Do you have a linear based editing system as well? I mean, can you edit
video without the Flyer, using just the Toaster card & other equipment?
I do not have that capability, Newtek said their system would replace the
linear equipment. If you do have a linear system operational, put
yourself in my shoes, what if you had sold it to buy a Flyer and no other
way of editing video, how well would the Flyer perform then, and how much
money could you have made with it?
Also, I think it's ironic that you ask "Now tell us how you get Broadcast
Quality out of the thing"
That in itself goes against what Newtek has promised...
This is not a flame, but I wanted to validate my previous post as these
two messages make me sound a little unreasonable. I've been patient for
7 months, and have been unable to operate my business with the Flyer as
the centerpiece.
I know it's coming, it's only a matter of time. In fact Newtek called me
direct to explain the Seagate process and how that the revision of
firmware was seen to eliminate drive induced stutter completely, and that
4.05 "should" eliminate software induced stutter.
Lastly, I could easily do :30 television commercials with the Flyer. My
drives are Hi-5 capable and the signal id very clean. However, I am not
in the commercial production business. I create 5 to 30 minute
marketing/industrial videos and stutter removal is near impossible.
To take out one or two stutters in a :30 spot would be childs play as
action would not cause a new stutter 2 minutes later. And as far as his
30 minute show goes, I wonder if he is using a linear based system in
conjunction, if not, he is truly a fotunate individual to have a stutter
free system.
